  1. Brandonio says:

I really wish we {Atheist} had our own country. Can you imagine waking up everyday knowing that the people you are surrounded by are actually smart.

  2. John says:

    I call Poe’s Law.

  3. Char says:

    Lol.
    Crazy bitch.

  4. What says:

People like this are the reason I avoid telling anyone I’m atheist until they know me better. Seriously, judge by the person not by the group.

  5. Canadian says:

LOL! If athiest left america it would bomb itself into the ground in a few weeks! Athiests, come to Canada! You won’t be judged and we really need a bigger population!

  6. J. Niles says:

I lived in Soldotna (Alaska) for six months or so. The number of churches per capita is unbelievable, so I’m not surprised by the ignorance displayed there. I had a driving job there, and I would listen to the creepy local Christian radio station, just to keep the hatred alive. After all, there shouldn’t be tolerance for religion. It is a choice, unlike being black, white, handicapped, etc.

  7. Rowan says:

It’s so easy to say that “the United States is based on freedom of religion.” That is a horrible and inaccurate generalization, but we don’t need to worry about whatever the US is based on.

“Freedom of religion” is a concept taken from the first amendment, which states exactly: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.” This actually means that government is meant to be secular and separate from any religion at all. “In God We Trust” written on our money can be argued as an infringement of the Constitution, but that’s an entirely different debate.

The first amendment protects everyone’s right to believe in whatever they want, and the government will not stand in the way.

  8. Dan, M says:

It’d be pretty funny if all the Atheists left…

“Where did all the scientists go!?!?”

I’d sure like to see America them

  9. A typical hate-filling statement from the religious reich. See how far their “tolerance” and “love thine enemies” philosophy works?

What would be better is if all the christians were moved to an Islamic country and let the games begin.

  10. Steve says:

Before the First Amendment, the last sentence of Article VI of the Constitution says:
“…no religious Test shall ever be requried as a Condition to any office or public Trust under the United States.” That should settle the “Freedom of religion means you gotta pick a religion” idiots.

Logically, freedom of religion implies freedom _from_ religion for anyone who so desires, but religiots (I found that word in a British blog, can’t remember whose) react badly to logic. They also tend to reject any history that isn’t in their Big Book of Serially-Translated Fairy Tales, so showing them a copy of the Constitution is rather like trying to teach a pig to sing.

  11. Steve, I remember seeing a video of a singing pig on Youtube or Maybe Megavideo. But I can’t ever remember meeting a member of the religious reich who was amenable to logic or facts.
